mmmm.... Strawberries...

I just got back from Staples, Walmart, and Weis - got a can opener (no more pocket knife), a fan (maybe now i can sleep at night -- my room has been 80?F both day and night, maybe it's due to 3 computers running 24 hours a day, maybe not), more cdr's (I'm running out yet again, that makes about 250 this year), and food: Carrots, Strawberries (couldn't resist the temptation), pretzels, juice, canned fruit, soup, and cheese.

On a less exciting note, I think I'm going to try to enjoy what looks to be a wonderful afternoon as well as do my homework: elec for monday, thermo for tuesday. Oh, and I'm going to try to design a comment system so people can reply to me if they so desire.

Time for lunch...

You'll see several 'test' messages abounding since I'm building this site from scratch (so I have to add individual features one by one while testing the whole time). As of now, the message post system is working, and the disscussion / comment system is also working (try the 'comments' link below any post to see replies)

I think it's time to do some school-related work now, let me know what 'feature' I should work on next (here's a list of things I'm considering):

 A Huge links collection
 an "About Me" page
 a "friends" page
some media and other stuff I've collected
a random stuff page (too random to describe)

Ok - homework time

The next planned addition will be ready by Wednesday, no hints yet, but the rough version is mostly functional, i just need to create all the edges.

Hey - will someone try out the comment, reply feature and let me know if it doesn't work?

Well, I didn't really accomplish 100% of the work I had wanted to do tonight, but as usual, I can work on it in the morning, so I'm going to bed now to support that cause...

This morning's addition (after I finished the Thermo quiz) is the 'aim profile' page (should be to the right under the quick pic). This isn't what I was planning as the next addition, but it works. I also realize that I need to put a link to the main page on the side bar, but I haven't decided how to do that yet.

It's about time to go to Thermo and learn about Heat Transfer, after that I'll get my physics test back (arrgh) and take the Differential Equations Exam (quiz) before working at the TechDesk for a couple hours.

If you have time, leave a message.

Well, I've sketched out some of the major features I plan to add, so over the next few days, weeks, months you'll see the links becoming active -- if there's anything you want me to work on first, post a response or email me. I'm going to work soon, and then to Thermo, but after everything is done, I should be back here working on more code this afternoon, expect a more-detailed post then.

Wednesday's addition is finished, but since it's "Wednesday's addition" I won't enable the page until then... (ha!)

I think that I might be starting my homework soon (Thermo, Elec, Physics) because it's generally better to do it before 8 in the morning...

I still need to tell everyone about my site since only a few people know about it... Though I think I'll figure out a way.

Time to work on homework, my website, procrastination, and whatever else I may or may not do.

Wednesday, April 17, 2002

Yet another busy Wednesday, though I managed to make it to breakfast. There's an Elec test monday, more Thermo homework due monday (as well as a quiz) - but at least no Thermo on Friday (Thurs evening instead). I did (mostly) fix the problem with the white line that was appearing above the right side-bar, and have put up a link to the newest addition: classic aim profiles -- check it out and let me know what you think. I'm mostly busy today, so I don't think the next page will be ready until after tomorrow (either a guestbook or part of the computer related stuff).

It seems that as of now, I've only had a few visitors to my site, but since I've only 'had' a site for less than 5 days, I might be overreacting.

I so want to play in the dirt: it's torture to see the construction crews at work when I can't 'take a turn' -- I guess I'll just have to go home some weekend and see what needs done around my house. (oh, I've accepted a summer position here at college, continuing to work for the Tech Desk and also for ITEC -- I should be busy creating web-materials, installing new computers, and other general things.

Ok, time for lunch, physics (learning about lasers and nuclear magnetic resonance today), diff eq, work at the Tech Desk, dinner and stuff, work at ITEC, and then 'disappear' to some as of yet undetermined location...

Thursday, April 18, 2002

Just got back from Elec lab - had more fun with filters and bode plots. Today seems like it'll be a busy day: a Tech Desk lunch meeting / picnic followed by work at the Tech Desk, then working on the Diff Eq project due tomorrow, the Physics homework due tomorrow, the Elec study sheet that we'll go over tomorrow, the Thermo I haven't quite finished yet, and there's the Thermo movie tonight (but at least I don't have Thermo tomorrow).

I've restructured the file structure to make things easier to find (for me), but as Rob informed me, I forgot to fix a few things last night, but everything should be working better today, including the new guestbook (who will be the first to sign it?).

A first for me: 2 movies in a day. I went with Paul to watch both The Rookie and Blade 2. Wow, uh, wow... ok, I don't have much to say other than wow, or perhaps that I enjoyed both movies.

I've been trying to cool my room off over the last week: high was 90?F, and from last friday till last thursday afternoon, the low was about 80?F -- now it's 75?F, but that's still too warm for me -- an airconditioner (which started working thursday) should be adequate enough to remove more than 5 degrees from my single room in a day...

Some of the 'random' stuff is ready: click any of the links under that section to view the random quotes that are currently available. -- Noone has signed my guestbook yet? -- any more comments about my webpages?

hmm... I think it's time to eat again... I might post another message after I've located something to eat.

The random stuff page now has 7 components; check out the random quotes and get your very own random password! -- I guess the next pages I'll be working on are some of the administrative pages and the computer stuff pages, I'll also eventually get the media stuff up and ready.

yeah, sure that's enough of a post for today, maybe if something happens I'll put up another message later.

I had an interesting evening: I went jogging and found out how quickly I can get short of breath... I also watched Oceans 11. Tomorrow looks like homework day, but I also need to do laundry -- oh well.

Time to watch more startrek (or something else).

Ok, so I haven't added anything recently, but I really haven't been feeling too great either, so take that as my excuse... Classes end on Tuesday, so maybe I'll get back to the website then...

Ok, so I've gotten some raw data into a database about the pictures, but now I need to find a good way to organize everything... So keep waiting. I'll do something else sometime too...

I'm about a quarter of the way through writing descriptions for all my pictures, I'll soon be able to put something up, but I haven't web-sized the images yet, so they're about 500Kb each.

Some sites that will eventually be added to a Friends links page:

Let me know if you have a website (email or send an instant message (contact info is to the right))

I've only got 4 more classes!

oops, make that 3 classes (Physics, Differential Equations, Thermodynamics)

Monday, April 29, 2002

looks like some progress has been made with the image gallery, not everything is up yet, but most of the pictures are accessible with descriptions, but you have to go through them one at a time, moreover, you'll be accessing the raw pictures, so stick with the old system unless you're on a high-speed connection (average image size is at least 500Kb (3 minutes on a dial-up))

Tuesday, April 30, 2002

Well, classes are over! I guess that gives me more time to work (or not) on my website. I'll continue to work on the image gallery, but first I'll probably write the archive page since this page is getting somewhat longer than I'd like.

Here are some more links:

Any more?
